Privacy
Short version: we collect what a booking needs, nothing else, and we do not sell it.

- What we collect
- Only what you type into the booking form: name, email address, optional phone number, your dates, the apartment, the number of guests and any message. Nothing is collected before you press send.
- Why
- To answer your request and, if you book, to perform the accommodation contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR / s. 30 Kenya Data Protection Act 2019).
- No tracking
- This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and embeds no third-party trackers. The one thing stored in your browser is your chosen display currency, in localStorage, on your device only.
- Exchange rates
- To convert prices your browser requests current rates from open.er-api.com. That request carries your IP address to that provider and nothing else. If it fails, the built-in reference rates are used instead.
- Hosting & email
- The site runs on our own server infrastructure in Europe. Booking requests are forwarded to our inbox by email; the transport provider processes them on our instruction only.
- How long
- Enquiries that do not become bookings: deleted after twelve months. Bookings: kept for seven years to satisfy Kenyan tax and accounting law.
- Your rights
- Access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Write to stay@blackgroovelounge.com and we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya or, in the EU/EEA, to your local supervisory authority.
